Throughout the years, Mylan WTT teams have taken an active role in community leadership and raised millions of dollars for various charitable causes, including underserved youth programs and military organizations.
Mylan WTT has given away more than 300,000 junior tennis racquets in the past decade through clinics, Mylan WTT matches, and other youth activities. Mylan WTT teams provide free tennis clinics and PlayDays, delivering a message of access and fitness to hundreds of thousands of youth.
Superstars from the tennis and music worlds come together for tennis that serves a cause. WTT Smash Hits, the annual all-star charity tennis event co-hosted by Sir Elton John and Billie Jean King, has raised more than $15 million to support HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness programs since 1993.
The team with the most aces each night of the Mylan WTT season will receive $1,000 toward a local charity of the team’s choice as part of the Mylan Aces program.
The Novo Nordisk Donnelly Awards were established in 1998 to encourage diabetic children to lead an active life and compete in tennis. The awards provide scholarships to young tennis players, ages 14-21, who have diabetes and play tennis competitively in tournaments or on their school team. The awards are to be used for education, tennis development, and/or medical care. The awards are named after two former longtime Mylan WTT executives and tennis champions, Diane Donnelly Stone and Tracey Donnelly Maltby, who are sisters.
