HIGHLIGHTS:

SUNDAY, JULY 5TH

Mark Knowles (Sacramento Capitals) won his first Wimbledon title as he and partner Anna-Lena Groenefeld knocked off the top seeded Leander Paes (Washington Kastles) and Cara Black 7-5, 6-2. Paes/Black led 5-2 in the first set before Knowles/Groenefeld turned up the heat, winning the next eight games.

WTT CEO/Commissioner Ilana Kloss and partner Rosalyn Nideffers were unable to finish off an impressive week in the Ladies' Invitation Doubles final, as Martina Navratilova (Boston Lobsters) and Helena Sukova won the final 6-3, 6-2.

WTT WIMBLEDON WRAP UP:

The 2009 WTT lineup racked up several pieces of hardware at the All England Club. The League earned titles in Ladies' Singles (Serena Williams), Ladies' Doubles (Serena and Venus Williams), Mixed Doubles (Mark Knowles) and Ladies' Invitation Doubles (Martina Navratilova). WTT also had several runners up - Ladies' Singles (Venus Williams), Ladies' Doubles (Rennae Stubbs), Gentlemen's Doubles (Bob and Mike Bryan), and Mixed Doubles (Leander Paes)

All four members of the New York Buzz participated in the Main Draw singles in the Wimbledon Junior Championships -- Alex Domijan and Sloane Stephens both reached the quarterfinals in their respective draws.  The quartet of teens are the youngest team in WTT history.

James Auckland (Boston Lobsters), the only British player in the Advanta WTT Pro League this summer, was WTT's Resident Blogger during the Championships. His blog for WTT.com can be found by clicking the link.
