Luke and Murphy (pictured on the right with Billie Jean King) burst onto the World TeamTennis scene in 1994, and their exuberant, charismatic style perfectly suited the unorthodox tennis league. As a doubles team, their on-court energy proved infectious, as they interacted with fans during matches and gained a loyal following. The brothers wholeheartedly embraced rowdy crowds, and they epitomized the WTT ideal of bringing tennis to the masses in a fresh, nontraditional format.

Luke and Murphy, while adept at singles play, are best-known for their stellar doubles results. The brothers played doubles for four different franchises. They also have a long history of participating in World TeamTennis Smash Hits events. Off the court, Luke and Murphy have had an impact as well.  For several years, Luke was the TV voice of WTT national broadcasts.  More recently, Murphy Jensen became the coach of the Washington Kastles 2009 and led the franchise to the 2009 WTT Championship; he later called the 2009 WTT season his “best tennis memory.”
