14:  Brian MacPhie

(Sacramento Capitals 1996 - 2002; Newport Beach Breakers 2003;
 Kansas City Explorers 2006)

Although his profile on the pro tennis landscape wasn’t as immense as some of the other name to player World TeamTennis, Brian “The Hammer” MacPhie certainly struck fear into the hearts of his WTT opponents. He is quite simply one of the best World TeamTennis players of all time.  In 2005, he was named to the All-Time All-Star Team as one of the top four players in WTT history; and was joined on the exclusive list by Billie Jean King, Jimmy Connors and Martina Navratilova.

His WTT accolades are seemingly endless; MacPhie was named Male Rookie of the Year in 1996, and was named Male MVP for three consecutive years from 1996-1998. He was the Men’s Singles scoring leader in 1998 and 2001, and was Men’s Doubles scoring leader those

same years with Scott Davis, Richey Reneberg and Sandon Stolle in 1998 and with Mark Knowles in 2001. He was also the Mixed Doubles scoring leader with Lindsay Davenport in 1998 and with

Elena Likhovtseva in 1999 and 2000.  The WTT veteran, who has played for the Sacramento Capitals, Newport Beach Breakers and Kansas City Explorers, made an especially indelible impact for the Sacramento Capitals during his seven seasons with the franchise; leading the Caps to five WTT Championships (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2002).
