MYLAN WTT AROUND THE LEAGUE - JULY 5, 2014
AUSTIN: Rick Leach has replaced John Lloyd as the coach of the Austin Aces after Lloyd withdrew with a knee injury. Leach is a Mylan WTT veteran, having played 10 seasons before coaching St. Louis in 2010 and 2011. He led St. Louis to the 1996 King Trophy. Austin also announced that 2012 Mylan WTT Male Rookie of the Year John-Patrick Smith will serve as a sub for road matches on July 15 and 17.
PHILADELPHIA: Taylor Townsend will join the Philadelphia Freedoms as a full-season player to replace Vicky Duval. Townsend played her first season of Mylan WTT last year for Sacramento and is coming off a third-round showing at the French Open. The Freedoms are planning on wearing a special patch for Duval, who has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.
SPRINGFIELD: Ross Hutchins will make his Mylan WTT debut on July 6 with the Springfield Lasers as a full-season replacement for Jean-Julien Rojer, who is sidelined with a back injury. Hutchins returned to the courts this January after overcoming Hodgkin's lymphoma. A native of Wimbledon, Hutchins has five ATP World Tour doubles titles to his name and currently serves as the tournament director for the Aegon Championships at The Queen's Club in London.
WASHINGTON: Jarka Gajdosova has been added as a sub for the Washington Kastles on July 7 and 8. Gajdosova previously played three seasons with Kansas City and is the 2010 Mylan WTT Finals MVP and 2007 Mylan WTT Female Rookie of the Year.
