- In May 2009, won singles title at Italian Open Grade A junior event.
- Stephens had strong success in limited appearances on the USTA Pro Circuit in 2008, with two quarterfinals appearances at $10,000 events in Landisville, Pa., and Wichita, Kan., and advancing to the semifinals at the $10,000 event in Sumter, S.C.
- Stephens also recorded a mixed doubles victory at the 2008 US Open with partner Robert Kendrick over the No. 1 ranked mixed doubles team of Daniel Nestor and Chia-Jung Chuang.
